The Costa experience is certainly very different from other cruise lines!! Having sailed on the new Costa Serena last summer and finding the experience OK we decided to try a cruise on the slightly smaller Costa Magica. We found this ship to be slightly more friendly and certainly the decor was less brash than that found on Serena. Overall the experience was again just alright! Food was quite good. Entertainment was also adequate. We boarded the ship in Barcelona an have to say that after the chaos that was Venice the previous time , this was a much more organised affair. On this itineray Costa have passengers coming on and off the ship throughout the week. The actual organising of this for Costa must be horrendous! There were several grumbles amongst the few British people on the ship about the lack of English. This is unfair as the line are trying to offer information in at least 6 languages at a time. Full marks to the ventriloquist who does his act in 5 languages but....we stayed away! For what we paid it was very good value for money. Thi summer- Celebrity here we come!
