My husband and I have just returned from a trip of the Far East with Costa. The itinerary was fantastic and we loved every port of call. However the Costa Allegra leaves a lot to be desired. Firstly everybody has to pay a standard daily charge of 6.50 euros per person to pay tips for the staff, whether they get salaries or not remains to be seen. We had good cabins, but no flannels or other essentials unless you asked for them. The water tasted terrible in the dining room and was coloured yellow in our cabins, I even took a photo because nobody would believe it! Food was okay but most meat was tough and the buffet seemed to be cold most of the time, even the pasta!! We played Bingo on several occasions, but the worst was 2 "line" winners who were given a pack of cards each, for 10 or 20 euros cost!! I could go on but I wont, I will see if other travellers do as they say and contact you!!

after reading all the reviews on Costa Allegra Far East I'm putting their brochere in the bin. We were on the point of booking this cruise as a birthday celebration next easter, but not now. will look at princess or RCI (excellent in all ways) Thanks for being so frank

My partner & I also travelled on this cruise. We agree with everything they say & more. On top of the 6.50 euros service charge we were charged 15% on all drinks which were already more expensive than on any other ship we have sailed(Princess, Norwegian,P&O).Our terms & conditions at the time of booking stated that we would be charged 6.50 but no other charges would be made,They lied!!!. When we mentioned this to the Adminstration Director on board he was not interested. Also if requested (which we did ) other cruise lines cancel these charges but not Costa! We booked this cruise 12mths in advance for a special occasion & not one of our requests happened eg twin beds & not double, 1st sitting & not 2nd. We are just in the middle of writing to Costa but I don't expect much response as their customer service is non existant.

totally agree and then some, we too have just come off this cruise, it was awful. horrible company dont touch costa crociere.
